Stress causes hair to become grey but it's a reversible process

Key points from article :

Human hair turns grey due to stress and then reverts to its natural colour when the stress is removed.

Analysed 400 hair samples using a new imaging technique to detect pigment levels.

Calculate when a person's hair had started to turn grey, and when it had reverted back.

14 participants took part in this study

Collaborative research by Columbia University and University of Miami, published in bioRxiv.

If the stress is removed soon after greying has started, reversal is still possible
