Professor Manuel Salmeron-Sanchez is Head of the Division of Biomedical Engineering and Chair of Biomedical Engineering in the School of Engineering. Before joining the University of Glasgow in 2013, he was full Professor at the Technical University of Valencia and Visiting Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology (2010). In 2012, he was seconded to Abengoa Research – a research company within Abengoa, an international company with +20000 employees – to set up the materials research division.
Manuel has > 140 publications in leading international journals and has been Principal Investigator in a number of national and international grants. He was the holder of an ERC Consolidator grant and has been awarded two ERC Proof of Concept grant (2015, 2017). He leads an EPSRC Programme Grant and a major programme of translational research funded by Find a Better Way, a charity focused on helping civilians affected by landmines.
