Professor of Medical Oncology in the University of Manchester
Juan Valle is a Professor of Medical Oncology in the University of Manchester (Division of Cancer Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health). He is based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust within the Gastrointestinal Disease Group and treats cancers of the pancreas, liver and biliary tract, and neuroendocrine tumours (NETs).
Major achievements include international recognition for research in the field of biliary tract cancers, particularly through establishing the reference treatment for patients with advanced disease. This has provided a platform for follow-on studies as well as studies in earlier stages of the disease. He has also been involved in practice changing studies in NETs and pancreatic cancer.
