Over the summer, another 8 non-profit organizations joined the International Longevity Alliance (ILA), bringing the total to 65 federated members from all around the world.
The ILA aims to promote and accelerate the development of biotechnologies that prevent and treat the degenerative processes of ageing. Its goal is to extend the healthy human lifespan by addressing biological ageing, which it identifies as the primary cause of age-related diseases and disabilities. The ILA supports scientific research in this field, advocating for changes in regulation and funding, and encourages public awareness. The alliance also seeks to unite global efforts in research, public policy, and professional networking to ensure that life-extending technologies are accessible, benefiting both individuals and society.
The recent additions to the alliance are:
- National Forum For Advocacy Nepal (NAFAN)
- Spanish Institute of Lifestyle Medicine & Healthy Longevity
- Age Friendly Portugal
- Latin American Lifestyle Medicine Association (LALMA)
- Sub Specie Aeternitatis (Bulgaria)
- Sociedade Portuguesa de Medicina e Ciência da Longevidade (Portuguese Society for Longevity Medicine and Science)
- Nordic Aging Society (NAS)
- ARSR Foundation (Canada)
This is great news during International Longevity Month during which, since 2013, the ILA helps to coordinate events and publications in support of healthy longevity R&D and education.
