First robotic surgical system with sense of touch

Deakin University in Melbourne has unveiled the HeroSurg robot which gives surgeons haptic feedback.

Improves the ability to distinguish between normal tissue and tissue affected by cancer.

Tactile feedback allows surgeons to use finer and more delicate sutures in microsurgery.

Also comes with automatic collision avoidance.

The study was published in the Lancet journal.
