Professor at Yale School of Medicine and Director at Yale Center for Research on Aging
Vishwa Deep Dixit is the Waldemar Von Zedtwitz Professor of Comparative Medicine and Immunobiology at Yale School of Medicine. He is also the Director of the Yale Center for Research on Aging (Y-Age) and Professor of Pathology. He serves as a permanent member of the National Institute of Aging (NIA)’s Board of Scientific Counselors and is on the advisory board of NIA’s Division of Aging Biology.
Dixit lab studies Immunometabolism and aging. His team help establish NLRP3 inflammasome in causing ‘inflammaging’ and immunosenescence that leads to age-related chronic diseases including metabolic dysfunction. His findings are published in several prominent journals including Nature Medicine, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Science Immunology, Cell Metabolism, Nature, and Nature Metabolism.
He studied Veterinary Medicine in India, completed PhD in University of Hannover Germany and postdoc research in Morehouse School of Medicine and NIH.
