Head of Bioinformatics at TruDiagnostic, Aging and Longevity Investigator, Foresight Institute Fellow
Dr. Varun Dwaraka is the Head of Bioinformatics at TruDiagnostic, and an aging and longevity investigator specializing in epigenetics and bioinformatics. He received his BS from University of California, Santa Cruz and a PhD from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Dwaraka has used NGS and array technologies to identify key genes implicated in initiating salamander limb regeneration, and using multi-omic approaches to identify their upstream epigenetic targets. He has authored numerous publications relating to genetics, epigenetic clocks, DNA methylation, and tissue regeneration. He leads the development of epigenetic and multi-omic based clocks at TruDiagnostic Inc., a company focusing on methylation array-based diagnostics to empower clinicians and researchers in better understanding the fluid epigenome.
Dr. Dwaraka is a full member of the Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, and currently serves as a 2023 Foresight Fellow in Biotechnology and Health Expansion, awarded by the Foresight Institute. Dr. Dwaraka is passionate about implementing machine learning methods to advance predictive medicine, identify novel biomarkers, and create algorithms to better understand the biology of aging.
