The Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences is a peer-reviewed, open-access, fully online journal. The journal’s scope encompasses all aspects of medical sciences including biomedical, allied health, clinical and social sciences.

It was first published as Diagnosa in 1987 by the Universiti Sains Malaysia. Later in 1994, Diagnosa was re-branded as the Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences.  MJMS is now published under Universiti Sains Malaysia Press, an established publishing house of the Universiti Sains Malaysia.
