Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University.
As the data-deluge hits us, the concept of "information" is acquiring increasing importance. His research focuses on intellectual and practical applications of various notions and ways of dealing with "information." Increasingly, he is investigating applications in bioengineering and biological contexts, in particular in the context of neuronal systems and networks.
His past research has addressed questions such as: what is the fundamental energy/power cost of processing information? How can this help reduce energy of modern systems? What are the right models and mathematical tools?
