Mary Daly

Professor of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Oxford.

Professor Mary Daly is a Governing Body Fellow of Green Templeton College and a member of the Fellowship Committee. She is Professor of Sociology and Social Policy at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention, University of Oxford.

Substantively, she is interested in and has published widely on the following social policy areas: family policy; gender equality; social care; child poverty and well-being; European Union social policy; poverty and welfare. Most of her work is comparative, in a European and international context, and interdisciplinary.

Mary Daly’s research has been supported, inter alia, by the Economic and Social Research Council, the EU, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Council of Europe, UNWomen and UNICEF. She is a British Academy fellow, a member of the Royal Irish Academy and a fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
