Professor of Conceptual Biology & Medicine at the University of Bordeaux
Professor of Philosophy of Medical Sciences at the University of Bordeaux, Maël Lemoine also conducts research within the ImmunoConcept laboratory (Conceptual, Experimental and Translational Immunology – CNRS and University of Bordeaux) in the Conceptual Biology and Medicine team.
Collaborating with scientists and clinicians, he creates an "applied philosophy", taking up the same research subjects as his colleagues - aging, cancers, immunotherapy in particular - and not the ethical questions surrounding them. The challenge of his work: formalizing key concepts in biology and medicine to enable scientific advances.
Maël Lemoine is also a member of PhilInBioMed, an off-site institute bringing together philosophers and scientists around interdisciplinary work. He also directs the Med-Phi collection at Hermann devoted to questions of philosophy of medical sciences.
