Laura Kurtzman is the Assistant Director of Media Relations for Research and Education at UCSF. She leads communications efforts related to basic and translational research, as well as population health and education. Before joining UCSF, she was an accomplished journalist, having worked at the San Jose Mercury News, Associated Press, and Los Angeles Times. Laura holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University and is a graduate of Williams College.
