Located in Daejeon, CNUH works diligently through active education and research to provided ifferentiated treatment service and reassure patients receiving treatment. It aims to be a "human-centered hospital leading medical advancement." It launched its Tissue Bank in 2005, primarily collecting and managing human bioresources related to tumorous diseases and distributing these to researchers in life sciences.
After being selected as a Regional Biobank by the Ministry for Health, Welfare, and Family Affairs in April 2008, CNUH began collecting human bioresources related to rare diseases and non-tumorous chronic diseases. It is currently in possession of bioresources from over 20,000 individuals.
The CNUH Biobank provides researchers with high-quality and high-value bioresources, which support researchers in their work of discovering the associations among and causes of diseases. Ultimately, the hospital believes that distribution will contribute significantly to the improvement of the nation's health, increased technological competitiveness in the field of medicine, and the medical and economic development of the country.
