Aparna Nathan

Science writer and a lecturer for Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School

Aparna Nathan is a freelance science writer for Popular Science, Drug Discovery News, The Scientist, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Open Notebook, Yale Alumni Magazine. She uses her multidisciplinary training to find both the cutting-edge science and the human stories in everything from genetic testing to space expeditions. Currently, she is also a lecturer for Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School. She was recently a 2021 AAAS Mass Media Fellow at the Philadelphia Inquirer. 

She holds a PhD in bioinformatics and genomics from Harvard University.
