Antonio Miguel Carmona
Professor of Economics at Complutense University of Madrid
Antonio Miguel Carmona Sancipriano is a professor of Economics and Spanish politician, leader of the PSOE and entrepreneur. He also participates as an analyst in various political debate programs on radio and television.
He has been a regional deputy, councilor for the Madrid City Council and a socialist leader. He is a doctor in Economic Sciences. He has been a professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, as well as other foreign universities. He currently teaches at CEU San Pablo University. He is also a private pilot and an officer in the Air Force.
Doctor in Economic Sciences, specialized in economic growth and new technologies. At the age of 21 he published his first article on Industrial Robotics. Before finishing his degree, he collaborated in the Department of Economic Structure with research on technology and growth. Disciple of Spanish structuralists such as Ramón Tamames, Rafael Martínez Cortiña or José Luis Sampedro of whom Carmona wrote one of his obituaries in the newspaper El Mundo. He received the award for the best doctoral thesis.
