Which? report highlights problems in UK supplements

Even if their effect is uncertain, the product should at least contain what they say

22-Mar-2019

Key points from article :

Each year in the UK we spend around £442m on vitamins and supplements.

By law, supplements can contain 50% more or 20% less vitamin than listed on the label.

Products from Vitabiotics, Holland & Barrett and Nature’s Best fell outside of these parameters.

E.g. Holland & Barrett ABC Plus multivitamins contained half of the vitamin A listed.

Manufacturers dispute the results.

Companies also used unauthorised and exaggerated claims on their websites.
