14-Aug-2017

Key points from article :

Skyler Johnson and his colleagues at Yale School of Medicine in Connecticut say that  people who choose alternative medicine over conventional treatment for their cancer are more likely to die from the disease.

They came to this conclusion after identifying 281 people with different types of cancer who had opted for unproven treatments.

The team then compared the health outcomes of these people with 560 others who instead underwent conventional treatment.

The study was published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
