A UK company called Open Bionics has created a new type of bionic arm that works even when it’s not attached to the user. The team spent four years building this upgraded version, called the Hero Pro, which is now the most advanced robotic hand in the world. It’s fully waterproof, wireless, and twice as fast and strong as other bionic arms, yet it remains the lightest available.

The arm uses special wireless sensors called MyoPods that sit on the user’s skin and pick up muscle signals. These signals control the bionic fingers, letting users perform complex movements with much more ease. Tilly lost both hands to meningitis as a toddler and has worn Open Bionics arms for nine years. Her feedback played a big role in the new design.

Tilly now says she can remove the hand, place it on a table, and move it back toward her using only her muscle signals. She also mentions new features like wrist rotation and flexing, which aren’t available in any other prosthetic. Her experience shows just how advanced this technology has become.

Open Bionics uses 3D scanning and printing to customize each arm for its users, and has helped over 1,000 people since it started in 2014. This latest version blends sci-fi level tech with real-life needs in a way that feels simple, smart, and human.

The Hero Pro marks a leap forward in prosthetic design that feels personal, powerful, and made for everyday life.
