Professor Gedroyc is a consultant radiologist from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and has won a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding contributions to therapeutic ultrasound. Professor Wladyslaw Gedroyc was awarded the William and Francis Fry Honorary Fellowship by the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound at their annual conference held on 15 March 2015.
Professor Gedroyc has worked in the field of therapeutic ultrasound for more than 17 years and during that time has treated over 580 patients. Therapeutic ultrasound uses high power, highly focused ultrasound beams to non-invasively destroy unwanted tissue, such as tumours, deep within the body.
