Director of the cardiac stress laboratory at Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Dr. Viviany R. Taqueti, MD, MPH, is a distinguished cardiologist, clinical investigator, and Director of the Cardiac Stress Laboratory at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, as well as a faculty member at Harvard Medical School. With two decades of expertise in cardiometabolic, ischemic, and inflammatory heart disease, her pioneering research focuses on using advanced imaging to quantify coronary blood flow, microvascular dysfunction, and body composition, redefining risk assessment in patients with cardiovascular kidney metabolic syndrome. A Harvard graduate and quadruple board-certified physician-scientist, Dr. Taqueti is also a leader in clinical translation, contributing to national guidelines for diagnosing coronary microvascular dysfunction. Beyond her clinical and research achievements, she holds prominent leadership roles, including Chair of the Digital Transformation Committee for the American College of Cardiology, with oversight of a $19 million budget, and membership on the Editorial Board of the European Heart Journal. Raised in Brazil and Connecticut, Dr. Taqueti brings a global perspective to her transformative contributions to cardiovascular health.
