University College Cork

University in Ireland opened in 1849

An award-winning institution with a history of independent thinking stretching back over 170 years. UCC is proud to be ranked in the top 2% of universities in the world. Our beautiful university opened its gates to just 115 students in 1849. We now have a student population of over 22,500.

As at 2022: UCC ranked 62 of 1,406 universities in the most recent edition of the global impact ranking produced by Times Higher Education. This is an evidence-based ranking which examines the impact the university is having, through the prism of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our score of 91.2 out of 100 puts us in the top 4.5% universities in the world for impact.

Cork is the largest and southernmost county of Ireland. It is a place of great wit, culture and independence.
