Sven Bulterijs
PhD student in Biology of Aging at Ghent University
Sven Bulterijs is PhD student at the University of Ghent, working in the C. elegans lab and in collaboration with Braeckman lab. His position is sponsored via a VLAIO Baekeland mandate with Prof. Bart Braeckman as co-promotor. His focus and scientific interest is in biogerontology. Sven has spoken at multiple international conferences on geroprotectors and aging research. He has an interesting parallel career in the aging field since he established the non-profit organization Heales. Heales organizes the Eurosymposium on Healthy Ageing, creating an interesting longevity networking opportunity. Further, he is director at LongeCity and worked in the prof. Spiegel laboratory at Yale University on the synthesis of glucosepane. Sven holds a master’s degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from the University of Ghent, Belgium.
