Dr Suzy Lishman, Consultant Histopathologist at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded a CBE in the Queen's New Year Honours List for services to pathology.

The award recognises Dr Lishman’s contribution to pathology services nationally as President of the Royal College of Pathologists, a role she was elected to in 2014, alongside working at the Trust. 

Dr Lishman has been commended for her work to raise the profile of the Royal College of Pathologists and strengthening its influence with politicians and policy makers, as well as promoting pathology as a career to school children and the public, by hosting ‘virtual autopsies’ and giving numerous talks to schools. She also introduced National Pathology Week in 2008 and International Pathology Day in 2014.
