Shafqat Ahmad is an Associate Professor (Docent) in Molecular Epidemiology at Uppsala University. His research focuses on the development of cardiovascular diseases. He combines methods from molecular and genetic epidemiology, including biochemistry, genomics, metabolomics, and microbiota studies. His work aims to understand the pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases and improve disease prediction. Shafqat has received several awards, including the 2019 Rising Star Award from the European Association for the Study of Diabetes.
