Semira is the Co-founder, Chief Medical Officer, and Chair of the Board at Genknowme. A medical doctor by training and an FMH board-certified specialist in Public Health and Preventive Medicine, she is also a researcher in epigenetics (UNIL, UCSF, UCB). The project originated during her four-year postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Francisco and Berkeley, where she explored the epigenetic connections between cancer and lifestyle factors. During this time, she also honed her entrepreneurial skills at UC Berkeley’s SkyDeck incubator. Currently, she serves as an executive at Unisanté (cheffe de clinique), an academic institution previously part of CHUV, ranked among the top 10 hospitals in the world.
