Michael Bunker is a USA Today Bestselling author, off-gridder, husband, and father of four children. He lives with his family in Central Texas where he reads and writes books…and occasionally tilts at windmills. In November of 2015, Variety Magazine announced that Michael had sold a film/tv option for his bestselling novel Pennsylvania to Jorgensen Pictures. JP is currently developing Pennsylvania for production into a feature film with superstar production designer Patrick Tatopoulos slated to direct.  On another project, Michael is also writing a novel and adapting it to a screenplay for a Christian film about the genocide in Cambodia under the regime of Pol Pot.

Michael is a recognized expert and/or has extensive experience in the areas of homesteading, preparedness, survival, off-grid living, pre-industrial living, pre-industrial farming, off-grid farm establishment and layout, alternative construction methods, stone construction, home brewing, traditional wine making and fermentation, traditional and modern food preservation methods, pre-industrial food preservation and storage, cigar rolling and manufacture, book publishing and marketing, along with dozens of other skill sets. Michael is also a lay historian, theologian, and a Russian Literature enthusiast. Michael has knowledge of off-grid construction, and has built smokehouses, in-ground cisterns, root cellars, is well-versed in garden design and function.
