Matthias Mann

Born October 10, 1959 in Thuine/Lingen, Study of physics and mathematic in Goettingen; PhD at Yale University (1988), Post-doctoral fellow in Odense, Denmark, group leader at European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL,1992-97), Full Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (1998-2005), Director and Scientific Member at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (since 2005), Director of the Research Department “Proteomics” at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research, University of Copenhagen (since 2007).
Matthias Mann has received numerous awards for his research, including the Edman Prize of the “Methods in Protein Structure Analysis“ Society (1998), the Meyenburg Cancer Research Award (2001), the Anfinsen Award of the Protein Society (2005), the Leibniz Prize of the German Research Foundation (2012), the Ernst Schering Prize (2012), and the Louis-Jeantet Prize for Medicine (2012). Körber European Science Prize 2012.
