Matthew Dennis

Assistant Professor in Ethics of Technology at the Eindhoven University of Technology and Author

Matthew J. Dennis is an Assistant Professor in Ethics of Technology in the Philosophy & Ethics Group. He specialises in the ethics of artificial intelligence, algorithmic fairness, and the future of work. His recent publications focus on how we can live well with emerging technologies. He was previously a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Research Fellow at TU Delft (2019–21) and an Early Career Innovation Fellow at University of Warwick (2019). He received his Joint Monash-Warwick PhD in 2019.

Dr. M. J. Dennis is also a Senior Researcher in Ethics of Socially Disruptive Technologies (ESDiT), coordinating the STEM line (interdisciplinary & transdisciplinary philosophy) with Prof. Wijnand IJsselsteijn. He has held visiting positions at the University of Oxford's Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (2023), Erasmus Centre for Data Analytics (2023), University of Amsterdam's Institute for Advanced Studies (2022), and University of Cambridge's Centre for the Future of Intelligence (2020).
