Professor of surgical oncology at University of Sheffield
Lynda Wyld is a professor of surgical oncology in the Department of Oncology and Metabolism at University of Sheffield and Honorary Consultant Breast Surgeon at the Jasmine Breast Centre, Doncaster. He is the Chair of the Education and Training Committee of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) Surgical Oncology exam board, as well as the Secretary of the UEMS breast examination board.
Wyld's research work is focused on cancer outcomes, risk prediction model development and validation, decision support, quality of life, outcome modelling in breast cancer women; psychosocial outcomes for women with familial high breast cancer risk; epigenetic modifiers of the BRCA gene promotor.
Wyld graduated from University of Sheffield Medical School with a PhD. He received basic surgical training in Leeds and higher surgical training in Sheffield, Nottingham and Manchester.
