London Longevity: Targeting Senescence to Extend Health and Lifespan (w/ Daniel Munoz-Espín)
London Futurists event about Senescence with Daniel Munoz-Espín (London, UK)
27-Jan-2025
Senescence is a biological process that acts as a double-edged sword. At a young age, it protects cells from dividing and potentially turning into cancer. Often referred to as "zombie cells", these senescent cells accumulate as we age, refusing to die despite no longer functioning properly, leading to inflammation and tissue dysfunction. Cellular senescence is considered one of the critical hallmarks of ageing. Targeting these cells with senolytic and senomorphic drugs offers exciting opportunity for treating age-related diseases and promoting healthy ageing. However, questions remain about the best strategies for selectively targeting senescent cells and understanding their complex role in development and tissue repair.
Join London Longevity for a deep dive into this exciting area of longevity + extended networking. This event is not only for scientists or specialists but also for people passionate about longevity lifestyle and science. It's a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, engage in great discussions, and discover exciting longevity projects.
