Konkuk University

Private University in South Korea

Konkuk University, established in May 1946 as Chosun School of Politics, has evolved into a comprehensive institution dedicated to higher education and research. With a main campus in Seoul and a Glocal campus in Chungju, it boasts an enrollment of approximately 29,000 students.

Recognising the importance of hands-on experience for agricultural leaders, Dr. Yoo boldly relocated the university to Seoul, despite post-Korean War challenges. His philanthropic endowment and education philosophy have enabled Konkuk to excel in agricultural and life science research, among other areas.

In recent years, Konkuk University has experienced significant growth, earning the distinction of being "the fastest-growing university in Korea."

The Research and University-Industry Cooperation Foundation, established in 2005, plays a pivotal role in facilitating research and promoting university-industry collaboration to advance knowledge, technologies, and the nation's competitiveness. It supports research initiatives, fosters partnerships with research centres and industries, and contributes to Konkuk's growth by fostering a conducive environment for research and entrepreneurship.
