György Sándor  was appointed as the Discipline Head and Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oulu and Oulu University Hospital in Oulu, Finland on August 1, 2017. He was formerly Professor of Tissue Engineering at Regea Institute for Regenerative Medicine, BioMediTech, Institute for Biosciences and Medical Technology at Tampere University, Tampere, Finland being funded through the competitive Finnish Distinguished Professor Program (FiDiPro) by the Finnish Granting Agency, TEKES. György Sándor was also the former Professor and Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Toronto. He was also the Co-ordinator of Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children and Bloorview Kids Rehab in Toronto, Canada.
