Dr Gerhardt Attard is an Academic Medical Oncology Consultant who specialises in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer and in early drug development.
He was appointed an Honorary Consultant at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in April 2013. He graduated with a degree in Medicine from the University of Malta in June 1999, was awarded a PhD by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) in 2010 and completed his specialist training in medical oncology as an NIHR clinical lecturer at The Royal Marsden in 2013.
He has received many awards including the ASCO Foundation Annual Merit Award in 2006 and 2007, a Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investor Award in 2008, the AACR-GlaxoSmithKline Outstanding Clinical Scholar Award in 2009, the Academy of Medical Sciences Sue McCarthy Prize in 2010 and the Association of Cancer Physician’s McElwain award in 2010. He is an associate editor of the journal Annals of Oncology and has published over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
