Dr Mehta is a clinician scientist with an interest in the biology of cirrhosis and liver failure. Liver disease is the 3rd commonest cause of preventable death in the UK and deaths are rising year on year. We currently have no specific therapies for cirrhosis and liver failure and the aim of my research group is to develop new therapies based on understanding the mechanisms of the disease.
