European Society of Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-aging Medicine (ESAAM)
ESAAM aspires to be the leading European Society in anti-aging medicine and the prevention of age-related diseases
Founded in March, 2003 in Paris as an umbrella organization to national and European clinical and research associations for preventive, regenerative and anti-aging medicine: intensify contacts between, and cooperation among, these associations, as well as with non-European associations and other international medical societies; promote education and support research in the field in Europe.
It has been about 30 years since the advent of the term Anti-Age medicine and the creation of the first community of the American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine (A4M) in the USA (A4M.com). During this time, more than 26 thousand people became members of the Academy and about 65 thousand specialists attended its courses. This largest organization in the world became an example for many other countries and the first association in Europe was formed in 2003 as the European branch of A4M.
One of the leading French specialists in the field of aesthetic medicine, a doctor of endocrinology Professor Jean-Jacques Legrand, stood at the roots of its creation. He was also one of the founders of International Union of Aesthetic medicine in 1973. Later he became an Honorary President of the European Association of Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-Aging Medicine which was registered in 2006 in Vienna, Austria as ESAAM.
