Danica Chen
Professor of Metabolic Biology, Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at University of California at Berkeley
Danica Chen is a professor of metabolic biology at University of California at Berkeley. She is a Searle Scholar, a Hellman Fellow, and an Ellison Scholar. Her research aims to understand how metabolic homeostasis is maintained and how calorie restriction regulates the metabolic network to prevent metabolic disorders. Additionally, she investigates the metabolic pathways regulating stem cell self-renewal and commitment, and defines how these pathways are dysregulated under abnormal conditions such as aging and cancer. Dr. Chen received Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from University of California at Berkeley and obtained postdoctoral training in biology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
