I'm an experienced engineer, with over 30 years experience of system engineering for complex problems in aerospace, defence, transport, energy and other industries. I am a fellow of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering.

I am also a lawyer, having qualified in 1997 as a barrister (= US trial lawyer) and practised at the Bar for 2 years.

I worked for around 10 years as a consultant to large companies and government bodies in the UK, the rest of Europe and the USA to help resolve conflicts between technology and law.

Since 2012 I have been working full time as one of the founders of Leman Micro Devices SA, a Lausanne-based start-up developing novel medical devices.
