CASMI
UCL initiative, committed to understanding and developing better and more sustainable means of effecting medical innovation
Supported by the NIHR biomedical research centre at UCLH, CASMI recognises the issues that have led to current failures in the translation of basic bioscience into affordable and widely adopted new treatments. It has been our collective ambition to further the development of sustainable medical innovation by fostering collaborative links between academics and professional specialists locally, with our founding partner Oxford, new institutions in the UK and beyond.
There is no doubting the importance of the agenda that CASMI is pursuing, emphasised by the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy and the challenges and opportunities confronting medical innovation in post-Brexit Britain. CASMI represents an opportunity to encourage interdisciplinary and interinstitutional research and scholarship, highlighting and organising relevant meetings and influencing policy and practice.
