"We provide evidence-based analyses to support the management and commissioning of healthcare services. We also write Behind the Headlines for NHS Choices."
Bazian was started by two clinicians at the British Medical Journal who were helping to establish its product Clinical Evidence, Anna Donald and Vivek Muthu. Recognising the utility of evidence-based medicine and comparative effectiveness research for health systems globally, they founded Bazian in 1999. Our team employ doctors, epidemiologists, librarians and scientists.
Bazian has worked with a wide range of clients to bring robust evidence and expertise to pathway and service design, business cases and purchasing decisions. We have worked with various NHS groups, including East Midlands Specialised Commissioning, South Central SHA, Hampshire and Isle of Wight PCT, National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE), the NHS Centre for Evidence-Based Purchasing (PASA-CEP), the Darzi Next Stage Review and Health England. Other British and international clients include commercial organisations such as Bupa Commissioning and Bupa Wellness, Tribal Consulting, Dr Foster and Informa, as well as governmental, academic, professional and not for profit institutions, including the UK Department of Health, the Royal College of Nursing, the World Health Organisation, the United Health Foundation and the Forsyth Institute.
Bazian has also supplied high volumes of evidence-based analyses and care pathways to point of care tools and journals, including Clinical Evidence, The Map of Medicine, Evidence-based Mental Health, Evidence-based Nursing, and Evidence-based medicine. We also provide daily analyses of the evidence underpinning healthcare stories in the daily media for Behind the Headlines on NHS Choices.
