ATR was founded in March 1986 with the support of various partners from industry, academia and government, aiming to promote basic and creative research activities in telecommunications and to contribute greatly to society. In 1989, our research laboratories were opened in Kansai Science City, or “Keihanna,” as its core institution, following use of an interim office in Osaka City. We constantly pursue research and development to achieve comfortable and exciting human life in the future.
