As a biological scientist, he initiated project collaborations with both clinical and academic colleagues to study eye regeneration, stem cell therapies, and retinal disease. He collaborated closely with researchers in the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany and gave several presentations and talks at the Mayo Clinic as well as at major scientific conferences. He additionally participated in science policy outreach. For two consecutive years, Adiv met with Congressional policymakers on Capitol Hill to advocate for increased funding for the National Eye Institute. He participated in these advocacy efforts as an official, invited representative of the National Alliance for Eye and Vision Research in both 2014 and 2015.
