Bionic larynx sounds more natural than artificial voice boxes

Utilizes a patient’s own respiratory system in order to work.

Patient’s own breath creates a humming sound.

Sound is then converted into speech through the movement of the lips and tongue.

The study was published in the PLOS One journal.
