A space cable between the Earth and the Moon is much more cost effective

If this works, one day we will be able to build space colonies at the Lagrange point

27-Aug-2019

Key points from article :

Spaceline is a newly-proposed type of space elevator that would link the Earth and the Moon.

Would use a carbon nanotube cable that wouldn't collapse at its end or snap in the middle.

Would be tethered to the surface of the Moon and dangle down into geostationary orbit around the Earth.

Astronauts would only need to reach the end point of the Spaceline.

Once the vacuum of space is reached, the spacecraft would meet up with the cable.

This would drastically reduce cost of space travel.

Potential to build a space colony at zero gravity zone between the Earth and the Moon.
