Graduated in Biochemistry at the University of Coimbra (2003) and did a PhD on Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Strasbourg (2008).  He is currently an assistant professor at the Health Sciences Department, group leader at the institute of biomedicine (IBIMED) and responsible for the internationalization and ERASMUS+ program at the Health Sciences Department at the University of Aveiro.
