Friends of ANCHOR Clinical Chair in Oncology at the University of Aberdeen
Professor Anne Kiltie is a distinguished clinical oncologist and researcher, currently serving as the Friends of ANCHOR Clinical Chair in Oncology at the University of Aberdeen since June 2021. Having earned her medical degree from Oxford and Cambridge, she trained in clinical oncology and completed postgraduate research—including a DM and later a DSc at Oxford, where she became a full professor in 2016. Her innovative work focuses on leveraging dietary fibre and the gut microbiome to enhance the effectiveness of radiotherapy—improving tumour control while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. She supervises many students and leads several funded projects aimed at radiosensitising pelvic cancers and improving patient outcomes, reflecting her commitment to combining clinical excellence with pioneering research.
