Wolfson Centre for Age-Related Diseases
WCARD focuses on the maintenance of a healthy nervous system during aging
Ageing increases our risk of problems with chronic pain, hearing, and severe damage to our nervous system following stroke or spinal injury. Led by Professor Marzia Malcangio, we believe this does not have to happen. We are dedicated to increase our understanding of molecular mechanisms and developing new strategies to improve quality of life.
At the Wolfson Centre for Age-Related Diseases we increase understanding and develop new treatments to restore normal sensory function and aid injury recovery. Neuroregeneration is a key goal of our research as we work towards a happy and healthy old age for all.
