Associate Professor and Senior Epidemiologist at Oxford’s Cancer Epidemiology Unit
Sarah Floud is an Associate Professor and Senior Epidemiologist at Oxford’s Cancer Epidemiology Unit, and a Co-Principal Investigator of the Million Women Study. Her work focuses on understanding how factors like social environment—such as marital status, socioeconomic status and isolation—as well as lifestyle behaviors including physical activity and body weight, contribute to risks of dementia, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. She teaches global health and dementia epidemiology, and leads modules on social epidemiology in Oxford’s MSc programs. Sarah holds degrees in social science and epidemiology, with a PhD from Imperial College London.
