Rebustini is a Molecular Biologist with Ph.D. in Biochemistry and expertise in Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine, with additional experience in Cancer Research and Immunology. His expertise includes scientific project development, experimental design, conducting and analyzing experiments, peer review and literature curation and preparation of scientific publications, training scientific personnel, and improving and managing scientific operations. The scientific approaches that he refined and employed in his research include in vitro cell cultures, ex vivo organ and tissue cultures for functional screening of regulatory molecules, RNA interference and drug delivery, nanoparticle- and liposome-based cellular transfections, the discovery of regulatory pathways using genomics, microRNA biology, mouse and human genetics, stem cells therapy and gene editing methodologies.
