Thomas Schulz

Thomas Schulz, born in 1973, is a reporter on the SPIEGEL's editorial board. He reported from the USA as a correspondent for SPIEGEL for almost a decade: first from New York during the financial crisis in 2008, before moving to San Francisco in 2012 to set up the SPIEGEL editorial office in Silicon Valley.
In 2015, his widely acclaimed international business bestseller "What Google Really Wants" was published. In 2018, "Future Medicine - How Silicon Wants to Defeat Diseases and Extend Our Lives" followed and immediately entered the bestseller list. Both books have been translated into numerous languages.
Studied political science in Frankfurt and communication science in Miami as a Fulbright scholar. Later, visiting scholar at Harvard University with a research focus on globalization.
Awarded, among others, the Henri Nannen Prize, the Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Business Journalism, the German Journalist Prize and as Journalist of the Year.
