Dr. Sunil Badve is a distinguished nephrologist and researcher specializing in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and its associated cardiovascular risks. He serves as a Senior Research Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health and is affiliated with UNSW Sydney. His research focuses on innovative treatments to improve outcomes for CKD patients, who often face high risks of cardiovascular complications and premature mortality.
Dr. Badve has led numerous groundbreaking studies, including the analysis of GLP-1 receptor agonists, which demonstrated kidney and cardiovascular protective benefits for people with CKD, diabetes, or obesity. He is also involved in large-scale trials, such as the RENAL LIFECYCLE trial, which explores the efficacy of SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with severe kidney conditions.
